Incoming student exchange program is a flagship activity in Departments of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, UGM to facilitate student from overseas universities who interested in:
- understanding health care system in Indonesia
- pursuing new experiences in the clinical/community settings in Indonesia
- learning about trans-cultural nursing across countries
We offer three types of learning experiences including:

The program provides students who seeking clinical experiences in our academic hospital. Students should wear uniform of home institution during clinical placement.

This program offers opportunity for student to observe the activities in proposed place. Most of places which may be available are related to community health.

The program facilitates research collaboration with our department's members. To join this program, students have to discuss and send your research proposal to Team Collaboration and Development (email: nursing.fkkmk@ugm.ac.id) at least three months before the program. Once you send the research plan, we will inform your research supervisor from our institution.

Application process
- For applicants from partner universities under MoU, you should be officially nominated by their home university through their international office/international coordinator.
For applicants from non-MoU universities, please contact the us by sending an email to nursing.fkkmk@ugm.ac.id with the subject “[Incoming Student]”. - Login to the elective page here: https://ogsfkkmk.com/incomingelective. If you don’t have an account, you can register first.
- Choose the ‘Apply Incoming Elective Program’ link and complete the form.
- Upload the required documents, such as Letter of Recommendation from the applicants’ Dean, Curriculum vitae, A copy of Passport (ID page only), an outline (a brief proposal) indicating the specific purpose and expectation joining the elective program at the department the applicant wish to apply for, a copy of international student health insurance (optional, but strongly recommended).
- After getting confirmation from the expected department, IRO will send applicants the letter of invitation as well as UGM sponsor visa (socio-cultural visa) if needed.
