Professional Profile
Sutono has been working as a Nursing Lecturer at UGM since 1998; at that time, he was still concurrently working as a Managing Nurse in the Emergency Room at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital, Yogyakarta. He has been a permanent staff member of the Ministry of National Education Decree as a Lecturer at PSIK since 2004. Sutono has studied Emergency Nursing and Disasters by attending a Master in Nursing Education with a specialization in Emergency Nursing at FKUB Malang and attended a Master’s Degree in Basic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, UGM, with a specialization in Physiology. Until now he is still a lecturer in emergency and disaster nursing.
Sutono’s research interest is in the emergency area, especially in Pre-Hospital Care and Community disaster preparedness. Sutono is also active as a member of the medical team for acute response to disasters in Indonesia, several disaster events in the Aceh Tsunami in 2004, the 2006 Jogja Earthquake, the 2010 Merapi Eruption, the Bima Flood, the 2017 Lombok Earthquake, the 2018 Palu Earthquake and finally the 2019 Lampung Tsunami as well as other minor disasters in Indonesia. Becomes vice chairman of the FK-KMK PKMK Disaster Working Group and member of the senior consultant at the PKMK FK-KMK UGM Disaster Division. Sutono is also involved as a member of the FK-KMK UGM Community Service team under the coordination of the Deputy Dean of KAP and is still listed as the annual Coordinator for the fourth year of CFHC-IPE FK-KMK UGM.
